Last Friday, the NSW Department of Planning, Industry and Environment exhibited a number of draft documents for public comment which seek to amend the Environmental Planning framework relating to the Western Sydney Aerotropolis. The public exhibition includes proposed changes to the Aerotropolis SEPP; the draft Phase 2 Development Control Plan; and the Luddenham Village Discussion Paper. A link to these documents is provided below.

The proposed amendments include:

– Revisions to environmental and recreational land use zones
– Identification of land for acquisition for public open space
– Re-introduction of some previously permissible land uses
– Changes to facilitate the Luddenham Village Plan

WillowTree Planning have been working with Celestino Developments since 2017 to develop land within the Aerotropolis Precinct known as the Sydney Science Park. This land has been identified as the future location of high technology employment lands and mixed use lands that will facilitate economic growth in the precinct whilst providing residential opportunities close to jobs.

We are excited to continue our work with Celestino and NSW DPIE to roll out the development of the Sydney Science Park and facilitate the growth of the Western Sydney Aerotropolis
