The Cumberland Plain Conservation Plan (CPCP) has been released which supports the development of more than 73,000 new dwellings and provides the biodiversity approvals for over 11, 000 hectares of land that will support new housing, employment, and infrastructure in Western Sydney.

New planning controls are now in force to support the implementation of the CPCP including the Strategic Conservation Planning Chapter of the State Environmental Planning Policy (Biodiversity and Conservation) 2021. These planning controls apply to avoided land, certified – urban capable land and the strategic conservation area.

A significant consideration when pursuing development opportunities in Western Sydney.
